Anna’ Stampin’ Cave – Work Of Art For World Autism Awareness Day Blog Hop

Hello everyone and welcome to my ‘stampin’ cave’!

Today, 2nd April is World Autism Awareness Day, and I am joining together with over 40 of talented Stampin’ Up! demonstrators across the world in honour of raising awareness for Autism. This fantastic blog hop has been put together by truly amazing Jenny Hall.

We hope you find great inspiration from our projects. You are currently visiting me – Anna Krol from the United Kingdom.

Y’all probably know already that the symbol for Autism Awareness is the puzzle piece in bright colours, but do you know why? To be honest I didn’t know the answer to that question. So I’ve made some research and here’s what I’ve found:

The puzzle piece logo was first created in 1963 by the National Autistic Society. They explain “that the symbol of the Society should be the puzzle as this did not look like any other commercial or charitable one as far as they could discover. The puzzle piece is so effective because it tells us something about autism: our children are handicapped by a puzzling condition; this isolates them from normal human contact and therefore they do not ‘fit in’. The bright colours are said to represent hope.

And so for my project, I decided to go with my favourite watercolour wash in bright, rainbow colours.

Work of Art card dimensions:

  • Basic Black cardstock: 11-6/8″ x 4-1/8″ scored in half at 5-7/8″ (29.7 x 10.5 cm scored in half at 14.8 cm)
  • Shimmery White cardstock: 4″ x 5-5/8″ (10.1 cm x 14.4 cm)
  • Whisper White cardstock (for inside): 3-7/8″ x 5-1/2″ (9.7 cm x 14 cm)
  • a piece of Basic Black cardstock for the sentiment

First I created my rainbow, watercolour wash. I wet my Shimmery White piece generously, creating sort of diagonal spotlight area. and started adding my colours. I chose Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Pacific Point. I spread colours around using aqua painter.

To speed up my process, once I was happy with the effect I dried my panel with a heat tool.

Next, using aqua painter and Basick Black Archival ink, I flicked tiny black plotches all over my panel.

For the sentiment, I chose ‘You are a fabulous work of art’ from Work of Art Stamp Set. I think it suits well the cause.

First I stamped it straight onto the panel in Basic Black Archival ink, but I didn’t like it. So I took a piece of Basic Black cardstock and die cut a circle using Stitched Shapes Thinlits Dies (2nd smallest). I stamped my sentiment in Versamark. Next to it I stamped a little butterfly image from Hold on to Hope stamp set. I heat embossed both in white.

I wanted to bring that ‘rainbow effect’ to the inside of my card too but without watercolouring. So I stamped ‘the rainbow’ in the bottom right corner on the inside panel using long narrow strip stamp from Work of Art stamp set. I’ve used same colours like on the front.

Few black sequins from Metallics Sequins Assortment finish off the card.

And that’s it from me for today. I truly hope you liked my project. Now I want to encourage you to join in and hope along.

In And Out Pop-Up Birthday Card

Anna’ Stampin’ Cave – Fun In and Out Birthday Card Using Birthday Delivery Bundle

Hello and thank you for stopping by.

Today, I wanted to show you a fun card I created for my grand niece’s 6th birthday recently. I got an idea for this card from ever amazing Jennifer McGuire, and its called ‘In & Out Card’. For her technique, you need a stamp set that comes with coordinating dies. And Birthday Delivery Stamp Set with Birthday Friends Framelits Dies was just perfect!

And here’s my card:

First, I stamped all the images I wanted to include in my card, on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. I wanted to use my Stampin’ Blends to colour images in (bear in mind I only had five colours in the dark and light shade at that time) so I’ve used Black Memento Ink Pad for my stamping. I also stamped a sentiment in the bottom right corner of the card base.

Because I had the ink pad out already, I stamped ‘Hip, Hip, Hooray’ flag on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock, which I die-cut later.

When finished my colouring, I fussy cut the images which I wanted to ‘peek’ through. I cut them out right up against the edge of the stamping. Next, I planned on their placing on the card and using coordinating dies, I die cut their shapes from the card base.

The party hat was bit tricky, but once I die cut the girl shape, I adhered my fussy cut party hat to girl’s head, place the image through the opening and using a piece of washi tape, I secured party hat die where it should go. Done!

I adhered them through these openings, using dimensionals. Because these images are fussy cut, they fit snugly and don’t interfere with opening/closing the card. I also stamped, coloured and fussy cut the bouquet, And adhered it with dimensionals so it looks like my girl is carrying the flowers.

I stamped the second sentiment that says: ‘Surprise’ inside of the card. I also adhered two more pressie images inside of the card using snail adhesive.

I still wasn’t entirely happy with the card so I thought: Balloons!! I stamped 14 balloons from Birthday Delivery Stamp Set on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and coloured them in with Stampin’ Blends. Because I didn’t have many, I mixed some of the colours to create new shades. Also these I fussy cut.

I created a small pop up element on the inside of the card.

I’ve used few strips of acetate and adhered my balloons – back to back – on one end of these acetate strips. The second end I adhered to the pop-up element and I hide it with a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock.

Now to finish off my card.

Using dimensionals I popped up ‘Hip Hip Hooray’ flag on the front of my card. I also added Clear Wink of Stella to my images for a bit of shimmer.

I truly hope you like my card. I surely had fun putting it together for my grand niece. And if you would like to check Jennifer’s video just click HERE.

Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop – Party Pandas Valentine

Anna’ Stampin’ Cave Party Pandas Valentine For Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop

Hello everyone! Welcome to the monthly Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop. This month’s theme is Love. You are currently visiting Anna Krol from United Kingdom. I hope you enjoy my project. It’s my first time ‘hopping’ with Stampin’ Dreams crew. And I’ve got for you the most adorable love card EVER! Even if I do say so myself haha

Party Pandas card dimensions:

  • Basic Black cardstock: 11-6/8″ x 4-1/8″ scored in half at 5-7/8″ (29.7 x 10.5 cm scored in half at 14.8 cm)
  • Lemon Lime Twist cardstock: 3-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ (8.9 cm x 13.4 cm)
  • Whisper White cardstock: 2-1/2″ x 4″ (6.4 cm x 10.2 cm)
  • Watercolour Paper
  • Whisper White cardstock for the inside of the card: 3-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ (8.9 cm x 13.4 cm)

When I saw a theme of this month’s blog hop I instantly knew which stamp set I will use. Isn’t this panda adorable?! Especially with its slightly oversized heart balloon!

The base of my card is standard A6 size in Basic Black. For the first layer I took a piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, spritz it with water to soften the fibres, and run it through the Big Shot with lovely Ruffled Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I adhered it to the card base with Fast Fuse

Next, I inked my panda (I didn’t ink the balloon part) with Black Memento ink and stamped it onto Whisper White. With help of Stamp-a-ma-jig I positioned and stamped the sentiment ‘love you’ from the same stamp set.

Using watercolour paper and Brusho Crystal Colour in Brilliant Red and Gamboge, I created a watercolour wash. Once it dried, I took the heart die from Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies, die-cut my balloon and added some shimmer with Clear Wink of Stella.

I glued my heart to the panda, where the balloon was and adhered the whole piece to the card base using dimensionals.

I’m really happy how this card turned out! Love the colours, dimension but most of all this adorable panda. And I hope that my card inspired you & brightened your day. I would love for you to see the list below & hop through all of the lovely artists on the list to see all our projects. You don’t want to miss any!

Best Guy Ever Clean & Simple Masculine Card

Anna’ Stampin’ Cave – Best Guy Ever Clean & Simple Masculine Card

International-Highlights-header-vote-fav

Thanks for coming to my blog today! We are being highlighted internationally by Kylie Bertucci and you are able to VOTE for my project. The top ten winners will get to be part of an international blog hop so please vote for my project. You can do it here or use a button at the end of my post.

This month we have a theme that, I think, most of cardmakers struggling with – MASCULINE.

I know that for some it’s hard if you can’t use pink, glitter or rhinestones on the card. Not to mention flowers. I even heard that masculine cards are boring! What?! Today I will show you that masculine cards can be fun and not boring at all.

Best Guy Ever card dimensions:

  • Delightful Dijon cardstock: 11-6/8″ x 4-1/8″ scored in half at 5-7/8″ (29.7 x 10.5 cm scored in half at 14.8 cm)
  • Early Espresso cardstock: 5-6/8″ x 4″ (14.6 cm x 10.2 cm)
  • Delightful Dijon cardstock for sentiment: 1-3/8″ x 2″
  • White Vellum cardstock mat: 1-5/8″ x 2-2/8″
  • Early Espresso, Delightful Dijon and White Vellum scraps for die cutting

To achieve this fun texture on my Early Espresso panel I spritzed it with water to soften the fibre. Next, I dabbed Hexagons Dynamic Embossing folder with Whisper White Craft Ink, put Early Espresso cardstock inside, run it through the Big Shot and let it dry. When it dried I adhered it to the card base.

Next, I die cut various size frames from Delightful Dijon cardstock using squares from Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies and Layering Squares Framelits Dies. You can mix and match these as you wish. Glued them to my card with liquid adhesive.

I also die cut three ‘branches’ using one of the dies from Everyday Jars Framelits Dies: one from vellum, one from Delightful Dijon and one from Early Espresso cardstock.

The sentiment I chose for my card is brilliant and can be used for any occasion really. And I love the bold font. I stamped it on a piece of Delightful Dijon in Early Espresso and matted it with a piece of vellum.

I adhered my sentiment to the card with a couple of dimensionals. For a final touch, I added my ‘branches’ to the card. I glued their ends under the sentiment panel. And this is my card done. I hope I inspired you today.

Stampin’ Up! Daisy Delight Sneak Peek

Anna’ Stampin’ Cave – Stampin’ Up! Daisy Delight Sneak Peek

Hello, everyone! What a beautiful day we had today down here in Coventry, Warwickshire. Even though I can’t fully enjoy the weather (yet) I managed to spend few minutes in the garden. And oh, boy, what a wonderful feeling it was.

Today I’m back with a lovely card I created for this week’s sketch over at Global Design Project Challenge Blog. I truly enjoy their challenges as each week they have a new challenge based on either a colour combination, a sketch, theme and CASE-ing the Designer. Lot’s of fun!

For my card today I decided to use some old favourites, as well as a sneak peek of new, coming soon bundle: Daisy Delight Stamp Set and coordinating Daisy Punch.

Dear Friend card dimensions:

  • Whisper White cardstock: 11-6/8″ x 4-1/8″ scored in half at 5-7/8″ (29.7 x 10.5 cm scored in half at 14.8 cm)
  • Crumb Cake cardstock: 5-6/8″ x 4″ (14.6 cm x 10.2 cm)
  • Pear Pizzazz cardstock: 5″ x 4″ (12.6 cm x 10.2 cm)
  • White Vellum cardstock: 1-1/8″ x 5-1/2″ strip
  • White Vellum and Whisper White cardstock scraps to stamp and punch daisies

First, I created the bottom half of my panel using the border die from retiring Botanical Builder Framelits Dies. I die-cut it at a slight angle, so it creates a diagonal ‘line’, and adhered it to the Crumb Cake panel. I also randomly stamped a couple of images from Daisy Delight Stamp Set: centre of the flowers and outline of the leaves, on the Crumb Cake panel.

Next, I took a Crumb Cake ink pad and a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. I stamped two flowers from Daisy Delight Stamp Set and punched them out using coordinating Daisy Punch.

I also stamped one daisy and daisy centre onto vellum with Versamark ink, heat embossed it in gold and punched out as well. I layered all flowers together with vellum as a top layer, offsetting them slightly for extra dimension. I adhered them to my panel, just above Pear Pizzazz piece, using liquid adhesive.

The sentiment comes from Birthday Blooms Stamp Set and I heat embossed it in gold on a strip of White Vellum. Because my vellum strip was wider than the Crumb Cake piece I was able to adhere the ends to the back of my panel. This way I didn’t have to worry how to hide the adhesive. I mounted my panel to the card base.

And that’s my card for today. I hope you like it. I also hope you’ve enjoyed seeing a sneak peek of Daisy Delight Stamp Set and Daisy Punch. These both will be available in my shop on 1 June 2017. But if you don’t want to wait, and want to be able to order new products earlier, it’s as easy as 1…2…3… -> simply join the fun and order your Starter Kit. If you have more questions why don’t you drop me a message?
