Let’s Celebrate card dimensions:

– Berry Burst cardstock: 11-6/8″ x 4-1/8″ scored in half at 5-7/8″ (29.7 x 10.5 cm scored in half at 14.8 cm)
– Whisper White cardstock: 3-5/8″ x 5-3/8″ (9.3 cm x 13.6 cm)
– Whisper White cardstock (for inside): 3″ x 4-5/8″ (7.6 cm x 11.7 cm)
– A piece of watercolour paper for Stamping
– A strip of Gold Foil cardstock for die cutting
– Gold 1/8″ Ribbon: 8″ approximately
First, I stamped my flower on a piece of watercolour paper in Versamark, heat embossed it in gold, and fussy cut it (without leaves).
To paint the flower I’ve used aqua painter. For the first layer of colour I chose Powder Pink ink pad. Once it dried, I’ve used Berry Burst ink pad to add more depth to the petals.

I took a Whisper White panel, decided where my flower will be placed, and using Stamp-a-ma-jig I stamped leaves in Lemon Lime Twist. Next, I stamped over them with Pear Pizzazz to darken them a bit and also stamped more leaves in Pear Pizzaz.

Using dry brush I picked some of that Berry Burst ink, flicked it over the Whisper White panel and assembled my card before adding the flower.
I cut a piece of Gold 1/8″ Ribbon (briefly 8″), added it underneath the flower and adhered it to the card base with dimensionals.

For the sentiment I die cut the word “celebrate” from Celebrate You Thinlits Dies in gold foil and also stamped “Let’s” from Amazing You Stamp Set in Powder Pink next to the flower. And that’s my card for today.

In And Out Pop-Up Birthday Card

Anna’ Stampin’ Cave – Fun In and Out Birthday Card Using Birthday Delivery Bundle

Hello and thank you for stopping by.

Today, I wanted to show you a fun card I created for my grand niece’s 6th birthday recently. I got an idea for this card from ever amazing Jennifer McGuire, and its called ‘In & Out Card’. For her technique, you need a stamp set that comes with coordinating dies. And Birthday Delivery Stamp Set with Birthday Friends Framelits Dies was just perfect!

And here’s my card:

First, I stamped all the images I wanted to include in my card, on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. I wanted to use my Stampin’ Blends to colour images in (bear in mind I only had five colours in the dark and light shade at that time) so I’ve used Black Memento Ink Pad for my stamping. I also stamped a sentiment in the bottom right corner of the card base.

Because I had the ink pad out already, I stamped ‘Hip, Hip, Hooray’ flag on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock, which I die-cut later.

When finished my colouring, I fussy cut the images which I wanted to ‘peek’ through. I cut them out right up against the edge of the stamping. Next, I planned on their placing on the card and using coordinating dies, I die cut their shapes from the card base.

The party hat was bit tricky, but once I die cut the girl shape, I adhered my fussy cut party hat to girl’s head, place the image through the opening and using a piece of washi tape, I secured party hat die where it should go. Done!

I adhered them through these openings, using dimensionals. Because these images are fussy cut, they fit snugly and don’t interfere with opening/closing the card. I also stamped, coloured and fussy cut the bouquet, And adhered it with dimensionals so it looks like my girl is carrying the flowers.

I stamped the second sentiment that says: ‘Surprise’ inside of the card. I also adhered two more pressie images inside of the card using snail adhesive.

I still wasn’t entirely happy with the card so I thought: Balloons!! I stamped 14 balloons from Birthday Delivery Stamp Set on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and coloured them in with Stampin’ Blends. Because I didn’t have many, I mixed some of the colours to create new shades. Also these I fussy cut.

I created a small pop up element on the inside of the card.

I’ve used few strips of acetate and adhered my balloons – back to back – on one end of these acetate strips. The second end I adhered to the pop-up element and I hide it with a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock.

Now to finish off my card.

Using dimensionals I popped up ‘Hip Hip Hooray’ flag on the front of my card. I also added Clear Wink of Stella to my images for a bit of shimmer.

Anna’ Stampin’ Cave – Roses & Dragonfly No°2 – Inlaid & Partial Die-cutting Birthday Card

And here I am again with Rose Wonder and Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies!

My little sister (well not that little, she’s nearly 22 y.o. But hey! she will always be my little sister) came to last week and said she and her friends wanted me to make a birthday card for their girlfriend.

They really liked this card I’ve made a few weeks back…

…and wanted something similar hence No°2 in the title 🙂

The base colour they wanted was orange with silver details, as these are the colours their friend loves. So fun and challenging as I don’t create much in orange! But I love challenges. I love to sit down and design, create something unusual; not just grab a card, two or three colours one stamp and bah! – five minutes later the card is done! I do clean & simple sometimes but that’s not my concept of creativity 🙂 I am an artist at heart. It have to be a process, it have to be messy and a little bit crazy too; so when I’m done my soul sings…

…and this is exactly how this card came to life

Roses & Dragonfly No°2 card dimensions:

Calypso Coral cardstock card base: 11-6/8″ x 4-1/8″ scored in half at 5-7/8″ (29.7 x 10.5 cm scored in half at 14.8 cm)
Whisper White cardstock: 5-6/8″ x 4″ (14.6 cm x 10.2 cm)
Whisper White cardstock: 2 panels 5-5/8″ x 3-7/8″ each (14.3 cm x 9.8 cm); one for blending and one for die-cutting
strips of Calypso Coral and Whisper White cardstock for sentiment

First I adhered panel of Whisper White cardstock to the card base using snail adhesive. Next, I took one of the smaller panels and using ink pads and sponges I created a backing panel for the die-cut piece.

As first, I blended in my darkest colour, Calypso Coral, followed by Pumpkin Pie and Peekaboo Peach. But you can start with the lightest shade first, it doesn’t really matter. I continued adding more colour until I was happy with the depth. To add more interest I flicked few droplets of water to my panel.

Water react with ink creating this beautiful, distressed look. Bear in mind that for the best results you have to do it when the ink is freshly blended.

I took the second Whisper White panel and arranged the dies how I wanted them to go. Next, I die-cut all elements, one at a time and put them away on a flat surface so I don’t lose any of the small pieces. Once everything been die-cut I adhered what’s left of the panel to the orange background. I’ve added some splatters of ink all over it and inlaid all my die-cut pieces back in. I added this panel to the card base with Foam Adhesive Strips for extra dimension.

The sentiment I’ve used comes from Rose Wonder Stamp Set. I stamped it on Whisper White cardstock with Versamark ink. I heat embossed it in silver, mounted on a slightly wider piece of Calypso Coral cardstock and add it to the card.

To make the card looks even more pretty, I scattered rhinestones all over the panel. To wrap it up, I stamped dragonfly image inside the card and on the envelope. It’s hard to see but I’ve used all three colours of ink on this little creature.

The card has been given already and I know the girl loved it to bits. That is my biggest reward 🙂 But I hope you like it too. Would love to hear your opinion it the comments below.

Shake It In Teals – Birthday Card For Sweet 17

Hello and welcome! Today I want to share with you a card I’ve made for our daughter’s 17th birthday. I don’t know where the time has gone but I could swear she was just 7 not that long ago.

She’s not a girly-girl ( happy mamma here lol). She’s studying fine art in Sixth Form and she loves mixed media. So I had to come up with something little more ‘sophisticated’ than flowers and butterflies if you know what I mean 😉

This year I decided to make a shaker card in beautiful teal shades. [You can see her last year’s birthday card here]

Shake It In Teals Card dimensions:

Thick Whisper White cardstock: 11-6/8″ x 4-1/8″ scored in half at 5-7/8″ (29.7 x 10.5 cm scored in half at 14.8 cm)
Watercolour Paper: 5-6/8″ x 3-7/8″ (14.5 cm x 9.7 cm)
Basic Black cardstock: 1/2″ x 5-6/8″ (14.5 cm x 1.2 cm)
for die-cutting word happy pieces of Basic Black, Island Indigo and Emerald Envy

It’s very simple, a straightforward card so I won’t include a whole step by step instructions, just some hints, and tips.

Frame: To create a teal-like shade for the watercolour panel I’ve mixed Island Indigo ink with Emerald Envy ink in a watercolour wash. When the panel was dry I die cut a rectangle from the middle of the panel, creating a frame.

Numbers: I didn’t want the number to look flat and boring, so I took that watercoloured rectangle, stamped two paisley images in Versamark in the middle, heat embossed them in white and die cut numbers 1 and 7 from that piece.

‘Happy’: I die cut it three times: one from Basic Black cardstock, 2nd from Island Indigo and 3rd from Emerald Envy and adhered them together. To add shine to it I cover my word in Versamark and heat embossed in clear. I did the same with the Basic Black strip.

Before I put my shaker card together I adhered few sequins to the base of my card so not all sequins fall down when the card is standing on the shelf. For the final touch, I added some random gold dots to the frame with my gold Sharpie.

There’re few things that didn’t come out as I hoped for, but with my numb hands, I think that overall the card looks nice. The most important is the fact that our girl loved it, so YAY!

Anna’ Stampin’ Cave – Birthday In Marina Mist Blues

Welcome welcome! We are back with our monthly challenge after a long summer break. Did you miss us?

This week sketch was designed by our lovely Mandy and it is…anything goes. I know! A nice little warm-up for us – thank you, Mandy.

I know you see more and more holidays related projects lately. But I decided to keep the warm summer days for a little bit longer. And what says ‘summer’ more than blue skies and butterflies?

This is a birthday card for sweet ‘sixteen’ who loves blue. The base of my card is Marina Mist cardstock, standard A6 size. The first panel is a piece of Color Me Irresistible Specialty DSP that measures 5-5/8″x 3-7/8″. I chose to use white, embossed woodgrain pattern and gently sponged Marina Mist over my piece and adhere it to the base. Next, I cut a strip of Marina Mist cardstock, 1″ wide, and stamped little roses from Number Of Years Stamp Set all over the piece and adhere it across the sponged panel.

I die-cut two circles: large one from Whisper White ( I pierced it around the edge) and smaller one again from Color Me Irresistible Specialty DSP. I sponged this smaller one with Marina Mist. But this time, I’ve added lots of ink for really deep shade. I adhered smaller circle on top of the large one, off-setting it.

I stamped butterfly from Butterfly Basics on a piece of Whisper White in Marina Mist and die cut it using coordinating die. I also die cut larger, detailed butterfly from vellum, using the same die set. Next, I attached small butterfly on top of detailed one, with Silver Metallic Thread in between. I adhered them both to the circles using glue dots and attached the whole piece to the card base, off-setting it to the left.

I stamped numbers 1 and 6, from Number of Years Stamp Set, in Marina Mist of course, and die-cut it with coordinating dies (I love this set!!!). Next, I stamped banner and word ‘birthday’ inside of the banner and die-cut it. For the word ‘happy’ I had to adjust it a little bit, and with help of masking, and partial die-cutting, I was able to create matching smaller banner. I attached the numbers and banners to the card base using dimensionals.

There’s no such a thing as bling-free teenage girl card, right? So my finish touch was to add a gentle shimmer to the butterfly, circle, and numbers with Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. I think it’s my first card ever where I’ve used one ink pad colour only. And to be honest I really like this monochromatic look.
